There are many miles of excellent walking within a short distance of our bed and breakfast accommodation. There is a short but pretty walk around the lake and through woodland at Melbourne Hall. Calke abbey offers a wide choice of routes within it's 750 acres.

Local
There are many places of interest to visit locally such as Calke Abbey, Melbourne Hall and Gardens, and Staunton Harold.

There are also some wonderful houses to visit within a 20 mile radius of Stanton-by Bridge, such as Hardwick Hall, Sudbury Hall, Doninton-le-Heath Manor House, and do not forget Kedleston Hall.

Staunton Harold Garden Centre
Not only can you buy shrubs, flowers, etc. but also you can browse round the many craft shops of excellent quality, and then have lunch in one of the two cafes. The church at Staunton is also very much worth a visit. The grounds of the hall are very peaceful; an ideal setting for a picnic.
